Meet Dita Agusta, a compassionate Indonesian woman who dedicates her life to caring for over 800 stray and abandoned cats in Bogor, a city located in the West Java province.

In 2014, Agusta established the shelter "Rumah Kucing Parung" with the initial goal of providing care for 30 feline companions. However, as time went on, the number of cats in desperate need of assistance steadily grew, prompting her to take action.

The shelter primarily accommodates cats that have been abandoned by their previous owners, many of whom suffer from various conditions.

Throughout her lifetime, Agusta has nurtured and supported thousands of cats within the city. Presently, she actively strives to find loving families who can provide permanent homes for her cherished residents.

For those felines who have severe health conditions and are unable to be adopted, the rescue center serves as their forever sanctuary, ensuring they receive the lifelong care they require.

In 2014 Dita Agusta established the shelter for stray and abandoned cats called Rumah Kucing Parung, in Bogor, West Java, Indonesia, where she took good care of homeless and dumped cats. Dita Agusta now take care of more than 800 stray and abandoned cats in her shelter. At first Dita Agusta had 30 private cats, some of which came from rescue. Dita Agusta's attention to caring for and accommodating abandoned cats made many people come to hand over abandoned cats with various conditions. From there Dita built a bigger place to care for the cats. The cats she takes in come from all over the place with all kinds of conditions.

From the start until 2023, thousands of cats have come and gone from this shelter, because Dita is also looking for adopters for these cats. Cats in good and viable conditions can be adopted. Meanwhile, cats that cannot be adopted can live here for life. The requirements for adopting are not being able to have too many cats so they can focus and be responsible for their pets. For the treatment of these cats, Dita is always accompanied by a veterinarian. At the end Dita advised not to hurt the cats because these cats also have the same right to life as humans. Let them live among us, let them live as they are.
