A rampaging bull dragged its handler and chased players during a Super League game in France.

The white bovine was paraded around the field to advertise the quality of beef in the Pyrenees-Orientales region when the incident happened in Perpignan on May 5.

However, the creature suddenly became agitated and pulled away before running across the field.

Chaotic footage shows the animal charging onto the field while a man trailed behind on its leash.

The Catalans Dragons players who were then doing pre-game drills before they faced the reigning Super League champions St Helens scattered around and fled for cover.

Adrien Ostins who watched the game jokingly said: ‘The bull was also warming up before the game.'

Soon after, the bull slowed down and was caught under control. No one was seriously hurt nor damaged and the match started as intended.
