An electrocuted squirrel sprung back to life when kind workers gave it CPR.

The tiny mammal was discovered injured and twitching below a high-voltage transformer outside a factory in Pathum Thani province, Thailand, on May 19.

Without wasting time, the men paused from their tasks and teamed up to save the animal.

Footage shows the unconscious creature being given chest compressions by one of the workers while another blows air and water on its face using a straw.

The process was repeated until the squirrel slowly opened its eyes, waved its limbs, and looked at its rescuers.

One of the workers Vorayot said: ‘We were about to start work when we saw the animal passed out. We quickly took it and did our best to help.'

The squirrel, which had visible singed furs around its body, regained consciousness and was placed in a metal bowl with a cloth to rest.

It was given a small box as a temporary home lined with a face towel for the bed. It ate an apple, banana, and drank water before being taken to the vet on the second day.

Medics wiped its eyes with a tissue to save its eyesight injured from being electrocuted. While it remained weak, the workers were happy that it was recovering from the incident.

Vorayot added: ‘It feels good to see it return to life. We hope it will get well soon so it can return to its home.'
