A magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck the Panama-Colombia border on Wednesday evening.

CCTV footage shows the quake rattling a shop in Necocli town in Colombia's Antioquia Department on May 24. Ceiling fans and product racks shook, while a wig stand fell over from the strong tremors.

The United States Geological Survey said the earthquake struck at 3:05 UTC on Wednesday in the Gulf of Darien bordering Panama and Colombia. It was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometres.

A magnitude 4.9 quake hit the same area nine minutes later.

There were no immediate reports of damage, injuries, or casualties, officials said. No tsunami warnings were raised.
