Emotional moment devoted Tina Turner fans learn of singer's passing during musical about her life in London's West End
This is the heartbreaking moment hundreds of devoted Tina Turner fans were told about the US singer's passing at a show in London's Aldwych Theatre about her life.
During a showing of "TINA: The Tina Turner Musical" on May 24 actors delivered the message of her death to devoted fans, leaving them heartbroken.
Gasps could be heard as an actor during part two of the show announced that Tina Turner had passed away aged 83.
Hannah Brown, the filmer, wrote online: "Unfortunately we got told the sad news of her passing in part two! The cast did her so much justice what a tribute! RIP QUEEN!"
She later told Newsflare the news was "devastating".
"I was in London’s West End watching 'Tina The Musical' last night as the devastating news broke.
"The atmosphere was devastating, chilling. It was especially emotional for my girlfriend who was with me and is a singer as she grew up listening to her.
"Everyone was screaming and crying. It was a surreal experience and a night I’ll never forget.
"Nobody knew of the sad news until they turn their phones on during the interval to which the cast came out and did an emotional tribute and announcement of the late Tina.
"The cast was extremely emotional and you could tell the cast and crew celebrated her life in the second half, it was raw emotion from all of them. I will never forget that night it was indescribable!"
Labelled the "Queen of rock and roll", Tina Turner passed away at her home in Switzerland on May 24 after a lengthy illness from intestinal cancer.
