In a shocking incident, the customs officials seized gold paste worth Rs 42 lakh (USD 50, 859) from a passenger in southern India’s Telangana.

The incident took place in Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on May 25.

As per reports, custom officials seized gold paste worth thousands of dollars during a search from a man. As per information intercepted, the passenger was travelling from Muscat and had gold paste concealed in his rectum. Gold weighing 685.7 grams whose worth in Indian Rupees is 42,78,768 (USD 50,859) was successfully seized by the officials.

Further investigation on the matter is underway.
