100 Hectares of Forest Fire on the South Coast of West Sumatra, Indonesia
A fire broke out in a forest, in the area, Silaut District, Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra. It is increasingly widespread and officers have difficulty extinguishing hotspots. Thursday (25/05/2023).
You can see the flames in the peat forest, expanding and getting bigger. The blaze was seen starting at 3 hotspots, now it has grown to 7 points. So that the area is filled with white as soon as possible.
Officers from BPBD, Pesisir Selatan District, Provincial KARHUTALA and Patents district as well as assistance from PT. Sapta Sentosa Jaya which is adjacent to the fire area.
The fire is thought to have been set on fire by the land owner. Will open about 100 hectares of oil palm land. However, the cause of the fire is not yet known.
The joint task force is still struggling to extinguish the fire in the field. Where at this time the task force has difficulty extinguishing it due to water difficulties and access to the forest because the fire is in a peat forest.
