Heartbreaking scene as teachers lead screaming children to shelter as sound of bombs ring out in Kyiv on Monday
Explosions hit Kyiv during daylight on Monday, May 29 prompting these schoolchildren to seek refuge in shelters.
Sasha Kuchinskі, a local resident and co-founder of the volunteer organization Repair Together, known for its efforts in clearing rubble and rebuilding abandoned areas, captured video of panicked children fleeing, some screaming as explosions can be heard.
Recounting the events, Kuchinskі said: "This morning, my girlfriend and I went out for breakfast at a café in the centre of Kyiv. Later, an air raid siren sounded and, shortly after, we saw teachers leading children to the bomb shelter. Explosions started, and frightened children were forced to run."
