Woman narrowly avoids serious injuries after accidentally tumbles down China's longest escalator
A woman accidentally fell down the longest escalator in China as she attempted to take photos with her phone.
Video filmed in Chongqing City on May 27 shows a woman suddenly stumbling and tumbling down the famous Crown Escalator for several metres before being helped up by a man accompanying her.
Fortunately, the woman did not sustain any major injuries.
According to reports, the Crown Escalator is an impressive structure, measuring 112 metres in length and 1.3 meters in width.
It boasts a vertical elevation of 52.7 metres, with a slope angle of 30 degrees. It operates at a speed of 0.75 meters per second and completes the entire journey in 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
Notably, it is the longest first-tier inclined escalator in China and the second longest in Asia. The one-way ticket price is 2 yuan (£0.23).
The video was provided by local media with permission.
