Large police seagoing fast patrol ribs have arrived at Portland in advance of the immigrant's barge coming to the port very soon.
Mystery surrounds the arrival at Portland of two large Police seagoing ribs.
With the imminent arrival of the Bibby Barge for immigrants at Portland Port its thought that they will be used for security duties as the barge arrives at the port any day soon.
The departure of the barge from Falmouth following a refit is expected according to local reports there.
Dorset Police or the Home Office have not confirmed this as yet.
These very large craft and are able to carry around 10 people. They appear to be made by the Delta Power group from Cheshire if so the company say that the Delta range of Police Patrol RIBS and Counter Terrorism Craft have been designed specifically for special operations.
