A pair of 'twins from hell' have been arrested over the alleged rape of multiple children in Thailand.

Identical brothers Wanchana and Yuthana Toonsiri, both 19, had reportedly been befriending underage schoolgirls using Facebook, before setting up meetings and allegedly molesting their victims in secluded areas in Ratchaburi province.

The demon siblings reportedly browsed social media under the guise of making new friends, and targetted junior high school girls in their area who 'looked innocent and under the age of 15'.

They were arrested on May 28 after several of the victims, despite being threatened to keep silent, came forward this month accusing the two adult men of committing sex crimes. Footage shows the police conference, which the twins did not attend.

Arrest warrants were issued for the pair on May 22, with national police chief Damrongsak Kittiprapas describing them as 'threats to society'.

Yutthana was arrested at a construction site in Ratchaburi province on Sunday, but denied the charges. Instead, he blamed his brother Wanchana, and led officers to a house in Suphanburi province where the other twin was detained.

Both were charged with abducting children under 15 for indecency and sexually assaulting minors under 15.

In a May 29 press conference, Police Colonel Apirat Pumkumarn, deputy commander of Ratchaburi Provincial Police, said the first assault happened on February 9, when the twins allegedly lured a girl and her friend to a construction site to rape them.

Wanchana was also said to have invited a 14-year-old girl to his friend's house on March 31 and molested her.

Cyber crime police said they found at least four more victims who have filed similar reports against the brothers.

Police Colonel Apirat said: 'The victims were from Ratchaburi province and were threatened by the suspects to stay silent. Some of them were too scared to go to school after being assaulted, while the others said they even contemplated suicide.'

Wanchana reportedly told police he had completed up to Grade 9 at school and had been involved in a motorbike-jacking gang and petty thefts when he was younger. He added that he had previously been arrested over drug-related charges for the sale of 2,000 amphetamine pills.

Meanwhile, Police Colonel Apirat urged other potential victims to file charges and warned of the dangers of social media.

He added: 'Parents should closely monitor the social media usage of their children to prevent similar incidents in the future.'

The evil twins were taken on Tuesday to the Ratchaburi Provincial Court, where they were detained pending further legal proceedings.
