This is the moment debris from a Russian missile fell on a busy road in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and nearly took out a car.

Russia fired at least 11 ballistic missiles at Ukraine's capital just hours after a night-time drone attack on the city, which has just celebrated the 1,541st anniversary of its founding on Monday, May 29.

The CCTV footage, filmed at about 11:30 am local time, shows the moment the debris from the Russian missile hits the road, narrowly missing what appears to be a bus and nearly taking out a car after falling right in front of it.

Other images show the burning remains of the missile fragment, which was later inspected by Ukrainian police.

The Ukrainian authorities said they had managed to take out all 11 of the Russian ballistic missiles, but locals were reportedly unnerved by the attacks.

Alina Ksenofontova, 50, a local woman who sought shelter in the Kyiv Underground along with her dog Bublik, said: 'After what happened last night, I react sharply to every siren now. I was terrified, and I'm still trembling.'
