Powerful tornado strikes northern China, inflicting severe home damage

A destructive tornado struck a city in northern China, leaving nearly 70 households affected and more than 200 individuals impacted.

The video was filmed in Jin'gouzi Town in Liaoning Province, at around 14:00 on June 1.

The powerful whirlwind caused significant damage to nearby villages, Immediate actions were taken to ensure the safety of the affected residents, with several injured individuals swiftly transported to local hospitals for treatment.

The aftermath of the tornado has disrupted local transportation, with multiple high-speed trains coming to a halt as a precautionary measure. The scene captured by surveillance footage depicted a daytime sky in Kaituan being ominously engulfed in darkness, reminiscent of a night setting. The ferocious tornado swiftly swept across the water, leaving trees bare and stripped of their foliage.

According to rescue personnel, the tornado primarily impacted the area surrounding Tianjia Village. Homes, trees, and power lines have been severely damaged as a result of this natural disaster.

The authorities have promptly initiated organised post-disaster efforts to address the aftermath and restore normalcy to the affected region.
