The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) rescued a seven-member trekking team being stranded in northern India's Uttrakhand.


The incident took place at Tapovan in Uttarkashi on May 31.


Visuals showed that in the rugged and snow-covered terrain of the Uttarkashi district, the SDRF team embarked on a challenging mission to rescue the stranded trekkers. The visual captured the sheer determination and bravery of the team as they ascended the icy slopes of the mountainous region.

Against a backdrop of towering, snow-capped peaks, the SDRF team members, equipped with essential rescue gear, were seen trudging through knee-deep snow. Each step is met with unwavering determination, their faces etched with focus and resolve.


The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) successfully rescued a stranded trekking team. The SDRF team, led by Deputy Inspector Pankaj Ghildiyal, swiftly responded to the distress call and mobilized rescue equipment to the incident site.


The trekking team, comprising seven members, embarked their journey from Gangotri towards Tapovan. However, unforeseen inclement weather conditions caused them to become stranded along the way. Sensing the urgency of the situation, the SDRF team sprang into action and embarked on a grueling 24-kilometer trek to locate the stranded trekkers.


Accompanied by one guide, three trackers, and three porters, the SDRF team meticulously searched the challenging terrain until they successfully located the trekking team. With their expertise and well-equipped rescue gear, the SDRF team safely evacuated the stranded trekkers and brought them to the safety of Gangotri.


The stranded trekkers expressed their gratitude for the swift response and expertise of the SDRF team, ensuring their safe return from the challenging trekking expedition.
