Footage shows how Bangkok's well-known gay zone has bounced back and grown even bigger following the turmoil caused by the recent pandemic.

The Silom area of the Thai capital city houses homosexual bars and clubs in the Patpong night market area and Si Lom Soi 4 - along with dozens more in the surrounding back alleys.

Gay and bisexual local men work in the area's bars where they allow tourists to buy them drinks for tips in return for flirting. They can also pay the male hostesses a higher amount for their sexual services.

Same-sex couples or single men from abroad can also drink at various gay bars without interacting with the bar boys working as de facto male prostitutes.

Silom is home to a number of gay bars, clubs, and restaurants. The area is also home to the Patpong Night Market, which is a popular spot for both locals and tourists.
