This is a funeral procession for a 77 year old lady in a village in Thailand. The procession is led by Buddhist monks, who hold a rope that is connected to the car carrying the coffin. The family and friends also hold on to the rope, this is traditional at all funerals around here. Some firecrackers are also thrown, as part of tradition. I was told that the reason for this is, so that the spirit of the dead person can hear it and find their way to the temple. This lady's sister died a few days previous to this.
