June 4th has traditionally been a date in which Hong Kong has remembered the victims of the Tienanmwn massacre in 1989. After two years during which the vigil was prohibited on grounds of Covid, this year the police just detains people on sight if they give any sign of commemorating June 4th. During this time, a pro-China organisation obtained the permission to use part of Victoria Park (where the vigil used to be held) for a mainland “fair” accessible with the payment of 5 HKD. This video shows the atmosphere in that fair.
