"Never forget '84": Thousands of Sikhs march in London to mark 39th anniversary hundreds were killed during storming of Amritsar's Golden Temple

Thousands of Sikhs bearing Khalistan flags - advocating for an independent state, were led by five disciples as they marched from Wellington Arch to Trafalgar Square, marking the storming of the Golden Temple, Amritsar in 1984, when hundreds or worshippers were killed by Indian forces (June 4).

The march takes place in remembrance of the dead and in protest of Sikhs' treatment in India by the Modi government.
Chants of 'Indian government terrorist state' and 'Never forget '84' were heard from the crowd.

Other held banners in support of popular self-styled preacher Amritpal Singh who as been detained by Indian authorities under the National Security Act (NSA), where he can be held for a year without charge.
