A fearless extreme slackliner whizzed across the wire - on a makeshift skateboard.

Footage shows the brave athlete Tomas Valenta balancing on top of the narrow platform attached to the cable in Cerny Dul, Czech Republic on April 30.

When Tomas achieved steady footing, he used a 'slackboard' made from a wooden skateboard deck to slide across the 100ft-long cord attached from one end of an open-pit mine to the other.

While slacklining is traditionally done by walking along the cable, some adventure seekers make use of the board for an extra challenge.

Tomas said: ‘This sport is real hard work. The ride was difficult but it was all worth it in the end.'

The extreme sports enthusiast added his latest feat was an unofficial world record for the longest slackboard ride.
