This is the heartwarming moment a rescue team freed a frightened kitten that was stuck in a cement wall while hiding from cars in Thailand.

The volunteers were called by concerned passers-by who saw the black moggie with its head stuck in a narrow crevice in front of the Phimai Wittaya School in Nakhon Ratchasima province on June 4.

The team found the hapless stray squeezed in the cramped space, crying as it was unable to move. They gently pulled it loose, being careful not to tug too hard, and the kitten was released within 20 minutes.

Officers believe the two-month-old female kitten had been playing near the road, but was spooked by passing cars and buried its head in the wall to hide.

It was released near the school to reunite with its mum and siblings.
