Animals and pets rescued as 29 towns flooded after Kakhovka dam was breached
Emergency services rescue animals and pets alongside residents as 29 towns became flooded after the Nova Kakhovka dam was breached.
Footage shared by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine on June 7 shows dogs and goats being transported to drier areas via rafts in the Kherson area.
It is understood that the woman in the first clip was asking officials to go back as she had left her cat.
Further footage shows residents being transported through flooded roads by vehicles designed to navigate through submerged terrain.
President Zelenskyy has said hundreds of thousands of people have been left without drinking water and officials claim around 42,000 are threatened by flooding.
Kyiv and Moscow have accused each other of damaging the dam, both deny the claims.
