Australian Bush Turkey bamboozled by high fence
This male Australian Bush Turkey (also known as a brush turkey) has been trying to construct a mound from detritus in order to get a female to lay an egg into. Much to the confusion of the bush turkey, a very high fence stands in its way, and the bush turkey has been working for months, yet to no avail.
Bush turkeys construct mounds upto 4 metres in diameter and 1.5 metres high. The heat of decomposition incubates the egg.
These bush turkeys, protected by law, are now in near plague proportions along the Eastern Coast of Australia, and have become a menace to homeowners. They rip apart gardens and rummage through garbage, leaving a mess wherever they go.
Jacob, the Mad Scientist from Down Under, has counted up to 18 of these turkey's roosting in a tree above his driveway.
