This is the shocking moment an out-of-control truck smashed through a roadside shop while turning a curve.

Wisit Sukkitpakorn, 52, was driving through the Ban Pho - Sanamjun route in Chachoengsao province, Thailand when he lost control of the wheel and crashed into the shop along a curve.

CCTV footage shows how the six-wheeler Isuzu truck veered off the road before ploughing into the structure, causing extensive damage. The vehicle flew off the pavement and into a nearby ditch.

Miraculously, there were no injuries reported.

Wisit said: 'I lost control of the wheel and was forced to crash into the shop because I was avoiding a vehicle in front of me. I'm thankful no one was hurt.'

He was remanded in police custody to be interrogated.

Thailand has one of the world's worst road safety records. Ministers have set the goal of reducing fatalities from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027.

However, a lack of road safety education in schools, cheap loans for cars, notoriously easy driving tests, police failures to enforce road laws as well as endemic corruption and chronic under-investment in infrastructure hamper the efforts.
