Buy video

It is 1pm on the first Saturday in Paducah, KY so residents of this town will hear the tornado sirens going off even if it is bright sunny weather. The multiple sirens are tested on this day every month so they can be ready to warn us of a tornado and given the fact that severe weather has upticked in the past years its a good thing these sirens are working good....and loud! I bumped into a gentleman from the rescue squad who was waiting to make a visual confirmation that the sirens are in fact working. This rescue squad is constantly preparing for the event of emergency during severe weather. Mayfield, KY is only 20 minutes away and it was recently destroyed by a massive EF4 tornado on December 10th, 2021. Many wonder if Paducah, KY will suffer the same fate. With a little attention to this change in our weather, Paducah folks aim to change their possible fate by having a tornado emergency plan ahead of time to help preserve life in our communtity. Many say its just a matter of time.
