HEMET - On 06/09/2023 at about 12:30 pm, Hemet FD responded to reports of a traffic collision with injuries involving a school bus and a white Toyota Camry that left the scene on Cawston Ave just north of Florida Ave.

Arriving crews located a school bus with moderate damage to its right side and rear bumper and three children requiring medical attention.

Three AMR units were requested at the scene to evaluate the children who were released to their guardians and not medically transported.

According to witnesses, a white Toyota Camry driving westbound on Florida Ave rear ended a car, turned into a nearby business parking lot and collided with the bus when attempting to jump back onto the street from the opposite end of the parking lot.

At this time there are no suspects known to have been identified and it's unknown if the suspect vehicle has been located.

Local media reported that three children were hurt.
