Thai rescuers used an endoscope camera to save a stray kitten trapped inside a pipe.

The animal handling team were called to the family's home when they heard a crying feline in the bathroom in Chonburi province, Thailand on June 3.

Footage shows the volunteers searching for the cat with their tools until they find it whimpering next to PVC pipes.

With the house owner's permission, they used a disc grinder to make a hole in the wall outside the bathroom and reached for the cat from that spot.

One of the rescuers said: ‘The mother cat carried her kittens to hide them in the roof but one of them fell into the gutter drain.

‘The family then contacted us to help the cat. It was crying non-stop when we arrived.'

Volunteers pulled the cat from the hole. It was unhurt but starving, so the house owners fed it with a meal and water.

The rescuer added that the residents are cat lovers, so they asked to adopt the creature.

He said: ‘The equipment came in handy because we wouldn't know where the cat was without it. I hope the cat lives a happy and long life with its new family.'
