A tree that was uprooted by powerful winds narrowly missed a delivery rider in central China.

Video filmed in Jiaozuo City in Henan on June 11, shows a gust of wind suddenly uprooting a colossal tree, sending it crashing down onto a nearby road.

Luckily, a delivery rider managed to narrowly dodge the calamity, escaping unscathed.

Mr Fan, a local merchant, recounted the spine-chilling ordeal, vividly describing how the powerful wind suddenly wrenched the tree from its roots, coinciding precisely with the delivery rider's passage on his trusty bicycle.

The quick-thinking rider instinctively lunged forward, narrowly evading the plummeting tree trunk. Instead, the enormous weight came crashing down on the rear seat of his scooter, leaving it helplessly trapped beneath.

Although the rider's garments bore the scars of the impact, luck was on his side as he emerged from the incident without any major injuries.

Miraculously, no other objects sustained damage, and no individuals were harmed during the accident.
