STORYLINE:

Amid China's efforts to boost rural revitalization alongside better infrastructure and higher living standards in villages, more and more Chinese youths choose to start businesses in their rural hometowns instead of seeking jobs in big cities.

In east China's Zhejiang Province, a village renovation project that was launched in 2003 has been bearing fruits with hundreds of all-round well-off model villages developed.

A large number of rural entrepreneurs have emerged.

Chen Kaile runs a rural cafe in his hometown, Lianfeng Village in Jiaxing City, which has introduced a stylish lifestyle to the countryside.

SOUNDBITE 1 (Chinese): CHEN KAILE, Cafe owner
"This cafe is featured with elements of the rural environment. It has preserved the indigenous local lifestyle while involving some modern and fashion designs into it. I hope all the customers here can sit down and enjoy a cozy afternoon with a peaceful heart."

In the eyes of Chen, the rural areas have vast potential for development.

SOUNDBITE 2 (Chinese): CHEN KAILE, Cafe owner
"The success of my cafe shows that there is great potential for development in rural areas. Now as villages are turning more beautiful, we hope more people could change their minds from 'going outside' to 'settling down' in the hometowns, which can better accompany parents as well as doing their own businesses."
