A car driver and motorcycle rider stopped in the middle of traffic to save a kitten lost on the road.

The motorists were waiting for the red light at a junction when they heard the hapless stray crying in Maha Sarakham province, Thailand, on May 26.

Footage shows the rider still wearing his helmet, walking on the median to search for the cat.

Only seconds later, the driver from a nearby black car climbed down his vehicle and joined in catching the feline.

Onlooker Worachet said: ‘It was so touching to see them save the scared cat. They both went out of their way to help a small creature.'

The driver took the cat back into his car and waved goodbye to the motorcycle who also left with his bike.

Worachet added: ‘It felt great to see that kind of goodness on the road.'
