Thousands of left-wing protesters marched in Sao Paulo against Lula da Silva's government guidelines on June 13.
The march was in response to a new fiscal framework that restricts public investments to allocate resources from the country's budget to the payment of interest on the public debt to bankers, according to the filmer.
This Tuesday, June 13, at Masp, starting at 5 pm, a unified protest against the 'new fiscal framework' takes place. The activity, in addition to the National Mobilization Day convened by the National Forum of Federal Servant Entities (Fonasefe), denounces the Complementary Law Project 93/2023 (PLP) – 'new' fiscal regime and the time frame, the Law 490/2007 (PL), both approved by the Chamber of Deputies in May. The PLP and PL will be considered in the Senate in June. The act is being called by Sintrajud and CSP-Conlutas, among other social and popular movements.
The 'dungeon' – as it has been called by workers – is the set of rules that replaced Constitutional Amendment 95 [which limits public spending], it puts at risk the readjustment of civil service and the holding of new contests, which can lead to in the increase in the deficit of civil servants in the Federal Judiciary, bringing losses to the population that depends on this service. The fiscal rules maintain the logic of the 'expenses cap', approved during the Temer government, in 2016. That is, restrictions on public investments to allocate resources from the country's Budget to the payment of interest on the public debt to bankers. The measure paves the way for new adjustments against workers and the most socially vulnerable people, since services such as health, education and housing will be at risk.
Another agenda that promises to mobilize social, union and indigenous movements is Bill 490/2007 (PL), which deals with the 'time frame'. The project, approved on the 30th of May, restricts the recognition and demarcation of indigenous lands, endangering the native peoples, the fauna and flora of the country. On the same date, in various parts of the country, the resistance movement occupied the streets, avenues and public spaces against the project. In São Paulo, demonstrators blocked the Bandeirantes Highway and were harshly repressed by the Military Police of the Tarcíso de Freitas government (Republicans), who brutally left several injured.
SOT 00:48:00 - Atanagoras – a sector of the left that is today starting a fight against the government that claims to be left! The time frame that attacks the indigenous people and that favors large estates and also illegal mining is an attack that puts us on the side of the original people and Lula's fiscal framework, with his wide (political) front, of sectors of the bourgeoisie, it is the repetition of the same commitment of the previous governments that always reserved almost half of the budget of our country to pay interests and the services of the international banks.
SOT 02:00:00 - Joyce – we are here today to dialogue with the population and to show that we need to be on the streets, we want not only to stop these policies that are an offensive against our class but to propose it. .. what kind of policy do we need for the working class to stop suffering from neglect!
SOT 02:40:00 - Altino – it is a left-wing manifestation of the government that at this moment ends up joining what is known as the center in our country, which was with the Bolsonaro government, which was with all the governments and continues in the government current.
