Terrified motorcycle riders ran into a shop when an explosion rained sparks on them.

The guys were on the side of the road in front of a repair garage when the incident happened in Pathum Thani province, Thailand on May 14.

While having a conversation, there was a sudden blast followed by a blinding light overhead.

CCTV footage shows the men rushing to leave their two-wheelers to shelter inside the shop following the explosion.

Shop owner Chang Som said: ‘It happened so suddenly, so we all panicked. Our first instinct was to take cover.'

No one was hurt, and the cause of the blast was later identified to be a tree branch that leaned against a high-voltage wire.

Chang added: ‘Everyone was safe. Repairmen had to check the lines after that for safety.'
