An adorable cat family huddled together inside a motorcycle basket to stay dry during a heavy rain storm.

The adopted strays have their own sleeping quarters inside the house but whenever it rains, the felines will curl up together in a cramped space outside their home in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, Thailand.

Footage shows the fluffy creatures clustering to preserve body heat and warm each other during the cold, gloomy weather on June 7.

Pet owner Orawan Phengsakul said the five cats were left by their original owner on the side of the road so she picked them up.

She said: ‘Whenever it rains, they would do that. Maybe that was how they survived storms living in the streets before.

‘When I realised what was happening, it made me sad and happy at the same time. They didn't have a proper home then so they had to do that but they had each other so everything was fine.'

The adorable creatures live with cat lover Orawan together with her dozens of adopted felines.
