An architect has shocked TikTok users as he shares how he is finishing building a house for his mother – which he designed when he was only 12 years old.

Antonio Duo has proven that with hard work, dedication, and determination, dreams can come true.

After finishing his architecture degree, he has managed to make that promise come true, and has even shared his story on TikTok.

In a clip that gathered over 29.9 million views and 4.6 million likes, he revealed how he’s doing it.

Showing a picture of a house design to the camera, he said: “This is the house that I designed for my mum when I was 12 years old.

“I got my mum to take the photo because I promised her that when I’d grow up, I would become an architect, and build the house.”

Carrying this dream with him, Antonio finally managed to make it a reality in December 2021.

“I knocked down our old house, as it no longer served us, and it then took just over a year of experimenting, determination, building, and designing,” he said.

“To be able to act on and do something so incredible, my own project, is amazing.”

The house, located in Zacatecas, Mexico, is almost complete, and just has some minor interior details left to go.

Antonio said: “We started with a blank sheet, and built from there.

“The house has two entrances, one at the front and one at the back of the building.

“We have also installed tunnels which take you from one part of the house to the other, and have left an old mango tree in the garden, since it was in my family for over 30 years.”

He is ecstatic with his new home, and couldn't wait to reveal the project so far, to his mother.

“As I remember when I was a young boy and I would wait at the gates for my mum, looking forward to her coming home from work,” Antonio added.

“This day was just like those ones.

“My mum loves it, and even better, she is super happy that we kept the mango tree.

“She loves the patio’s, curved walls, and the amount of internal space.

“The calm atmosphere is incredible.”

In the video, posted to his TikTok, (@antonyduo), he also reveals clips of the home.

The house, decorated mostly in white and cream, provides a relaxing, tranquil setting.

Tunnels take you outside, where you can then spot the beautiful mango tree.

The clip gathered hundreds of comments from fans, amazed users and his 792,000 followers.

One person commented: “You made me cry, wanting to build a house for your mother, and expressing your love through architectural design is a very very beautiful thing.”

Someone else said: “It is very rare you see an architect try so much in his works, I congratulate you.”

Rey added: “Good design very good.”

“Son but I just told you that if you could paint the bathroom ceiling because I can't reach,” joked Garcia.

“Mexico has never been out of style,” Viviana said.

Mimi commented: “But will you create me a house in Minecraft????” [sic]

In the video, he said: “I found it an emotional job, and find it amazing to see what one can do when their heart is in it.”
