The following day brought an unforeseen turn of events. Out of nowhere, a baby fawn darted into Alexis's yard, its delicate presence infused with a glimmer of hope. Cautiously, Alexis approached the fawn, mindful not to cause any fright. With gentle patience, she extended a welcoming aura, allowing the fawn to draw nearer and trust her presence. Assisted by a kind neighbor, Alexis lifted the fawn, holding her securely while making arrangements with local wildlife rehabilitation centers.

I went outside to investigate and i stumbled upon a mother doe laid on her side giving birth, I was knelt beside her telling her it was going to be okay. Unfortunately I had to leave for work that day but the second i got home i ran out to check on her. It was then i found her body stiff and cold with no sign of the baby. I was devastated and i thought the baby must’ve never been born and died too. The next day i went out to leave offerings of beautiful pine cones, leaves and other things i felt she would’ve loved. The day after that, a baby fawn came running into my yard. I immediately ran outside and approached the fawn trying not to scare her. I allowed her to come up to me so she felt comfortable and my neighbor helped my pick her up and contact wild life rehabs. I held the baby fawn in my arms and allowed her to feel safe and loved. She grew more comfortable with me over the few hours i spent with her. She was licking me like a puppy, snuggling me and at one point she had even fallen asleep and started snoring in my arms. Later that day, the baby fawn was brought to a wild life rehab in foster rhode island where they identified her as a girl and fed her mommy deer milk. The baby fawn is now safe at the rehab center being prepared to return to the wild!
