Footage has emerged from Greece of protesters clashing with police on the anniversary of the 1973 student uprising against the country's military junta.

The video, filmed yesterday in Thessaloniki, shows people setting fires in the middle of roads and throwing stones at officers.

The violence at the protests took place amid Greece's prolonged financial crisis and high unemployment levels, with young people among the worst affected.
