India's National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) carried out an evacuation operation and rescued a group of five to six people following the landfall of Cyclone Biparjoy in western India's Gujarat.

The footage, which was filmed in Bagicha Baag, Nagar Palika of Kachchh district on June 16, shows officials wading through the waist‐high water and rescuing a child.

According to the NDRF, an elderly woman was given a life jacket and rescued.

Officers of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) conducted an evacuation operation, rescuing five-six people after Cyclone Biparjoy made its landfall in western India's Gujarat.

This incident happened at Bagicha Baag, Nagar Palika of Kachchh district on June 16.

Visuals showed the NDRF officials wading through the water to evacuate the people. The water was waist-high and it was still raining as the operation was going. One of the officials carried a child on his shoulder. Among the ones rescued also included other children and an elderly lady, who was given a life jacket and helped to walk through the water.

Cyclone Biporjoy made its landfall in the state of Gujarat, causing massive destruction. Trees were uprooted by the strong gusty winds of the cyclone as rainfall caused water-logging in several areas of the state. Also, several electric poles were damaged by the cyclone which led to power failure in 940 villages. Many animals were killed in this cyclone with 22 people being injured.
