My wife, myself and our 2 boys was fast asleep when a loud bang woke us up to find a man who was clearly drunk and was on drugs he let himself in to our garden and was shouting however at that point it didn’t wake us up
However the bangs did! He threw our solid wood garden chairs at the glass patio doors
How the glass didn’t smash is crazy he threw the chairs that hard that he broke them and had to be binned! On reviewing our proper cctv cameras he tried getting in to one of our cars as well as standing on top of the car!

My wife called the police who arrived within 5 minutes the man was trying to get into next doors house! The police arrested him and told
Us in the morning see what damage had accrued and to send the Ring Floodlight Camera footage as well as our cctv systems footage which we do and was told he would get an offer to pay for the damage or go to court however by the time the police watched the footage the man have been let go but they had his name and that he was from
Wales but goes to uni in Manchester where we live so when the police went to his address he had apparently packed up and disappeared so the broken chairs had to be binned and all
We was left with was the footage of him

The fact the police let him go even though they knew we had cctv and ring devices because these were pointed out to the officer! The to be told he was let go they had his name and are going to the address he gave and then told he doesn't live there he's gone so case closed so we was left with the Bill to replace the garden furniture!

But my family couldn't sleep for months after this my youngest kept saying is the bad man coming back and I don't really sleep now because an accident at work a few years back has left me disabled and after this I felt as a husband and a father I should be able to protect my family and then this happens and realised I'd struggle! Because of my disability I told my wife we needed all the cctv and ring devices which wasn't cheap so if anything happens the police will have an open and shut case and clearly this wasn't the case!
