Heavy Storm and Rains as severe cyclone Biporjoy makes landfall in Gujarat Coast,Thousands Evacuated

The landfall of Severe Cyclone Biparjoy began on the 15th of June around 4pm in the Gujarat Coast near Jakhau port, with 125 kmph winds and heavy rain pummeling the Gujarat coast. The entire process continued for over 6 hours.

Several columns of Army, Navy, and NDRF teams were on alert to tackle the situation. Over 100,000 people have been shifted to safer locations. More than 100,000 people have evacuated in the wake of Cyclone 'Biparjoy'. Biparjoy has been classified as a Category 3 "very severe cyclonic storm", which is battering parts of coastal Gujarat.

Bhuj and Kutch are witnessing strong winds and the high tide has hit the coastal area. Heavy rainfall and strong winds have hit Dwarka, Mandvi, and Morbi. High tidal waves and gusty winds are continuing in Mumbai. Fishing activities have been suspended till the 17th June, ports are shut and ships are anchored. Western Railways said 99 trains have been canceled as a precautionary measure.
