Dozens of sec workers were rounded up in trucks and frogmarched to the local police station in Cambodia on Thursday evening.

Cops swarmed on the Veng Sreng Road in the capital Phnom Penh following complaints from residents that women and men wearing women's clothes had been loitering in the area for several weeks soliciting customers.

Phon Sophan, the Deputy Governor of Por Senchey District, lead officers as the women were arrested and hauled to the station for 'questioning and re-education'.

The government chief said: 'Residents complained about the toxic environment caused by the prostitutes. They loiter in the street making the environment dangerous.

'They were arrested so they could be taken to the Por Senchey district police station for education.'

Cambodia's capital has a sex industry largely catering to local men and business tourists from China but it is not on the same globally-recognised scale of debauchery found in neighboring Thailand, where the criminality is protected and profited from by police and politicians.
