Bungee jumping...in a kayak!
This is the crazy moment a German kayaker ends up on one of the tallest buildings in Berlin and bungee jumps down in his kayak. The footage was filmed at Park Inn by Radisson, Alexanderplatz 9.
"The jump itself was 12t meters", told Adrian Mattern to Newsflare. "The weirdest feeling was the fact that I fell from a height you usually don’t drop in a kayak, but then also to not see water but just concrete and people underneath you sketched me out more than I initially thought".
Adrian prepared for the stunt by talking to some friends who are stuntmen and safety riggers. They tried to figure out the best way to secure him and his kayak for the freefall as well as that he would not land on people.
"After some prototyping, we found a sweet setup with me wearing a full harness where the kayak was also secured to with its independent setup of webbing. That way, the impact, and extra weight did not fully go into my body which was sweet", explained Adrian.
"An experience I will not forget that quickly! What a crazy feeling!".
