Hsu Guan-Sheng, a Taiwan compatriot from Taipei, seeks business opportunities in the high-tech industry in east China's Xiamen City.

In 2018, Hsu established an artificial intelligence (AI) development association in Taiwan. He came to the Chinese mainland and finally decided to land his project in Xiamen in 2019.

"The development of AI in the Chinese mainland offers significant advantages. First, the market size is large. Second, there is a vast amount of data available. These two things depend on the development speed of AI in market applications. So I think the Chinese mainland has advantages in both aspects. In addition, more talents in AI are being involved in this market. Given these favorable conditions, I think, the AI industry in the Chinese mainland is currently the fastest-growing and most diverse market in the world.
Indeed, the Chinese mainland offers some natural advantages for Taiwanese youths to start businesses, including good policies and its large market. I chose to set up my company in Xiamen because it's leading in providing diversified preferential policies. So many young Taiwanese entrepreneurs come to this city, because the burden of starting businesses here is relatively lower."
