Rescuers defy strong river current to bring 18-year-olds to safety in India

India's State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) rescued two 18-year-old Nepalis from the strong current of a river in the city of Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand state, on June 16.

The team, led by sub-inspector Dharmendra Singh, used life-jackets and a rope to bring them to safety.

The rescue operation was joined by sub-inspectors Sanjay Negi, Harish Bangari, Constable Anoop Rawat, Constable Mukesh Kumar, reserve Pawan, and technician Akshay.
