STORYLINE:

With this year's Asian Games less than 100 days away, the Asian Games village in China's Hangzhou has attracted much attention for its facilities and services.

The village covers an area of 1.13 square km, consisting of athletes' village, technical officials' village and media village. It's the largest non-competition venue of the Hangzhou Asian Games.

During the Asian Games, this area is expected to accommodate more than 10,000 athletes and team officials, 4,000 technical officials, and 5,000 journalists.

In the fitness center, facilities were set up in line with concepts of international physical training, while training habits of Asian athletes are taken into full consideration.

SOUNDBITE 1 (Chinese): SUN JIAQUN, Director of fitness center, Hangzhou Asian Games village
"We have specialized fitness instructors, such as nutrition and physical rehabilitation, fatigue recovery, and sports psychology. They'll offer best tailored services based on the actual conditions of the athletes."

There are six restaurants in the Hangzhou Asian Games village, with a dining area of about 8,400 square meters.

SOUNDBITE 2 (Chinese): HU CHUANGANG, Deputy director of catering service center, Hangzhou Asian Games village
"To cater to the needs of people from various countries and regions, taking into consideration their religious habits and lifestyles, we are providing hot dishes of Chinese, East Asian, Arab, Middle Eastern, and European flavors, as well as Western fast food."

The athletes' village has also set up a comprehensive outpatient department, providing medical services just in case.

SOUNDBITE 3 (English): LIU WEI, Polyclinic staff member, Hangzhou Asian Games village
"This polyclinic is a three-story building, including emergency services and routine services. So the emergency services will provide 24-hour medical service including first aid and internal medicine and surgical emergency service. When we come to the third floor, we have our specialized TCM massage, and we have the more Western-style rehabilitation and physiotherapy treatment. So combining Western and traditional Chinese way, we believe we can give those athletes who have sports injuries or athletic injuries a really good way to help them recover."
