Trooping the Colour: King Charles III leads his first official birthday parade on horseback

King Charles III is leading Trooping the Colour parade on Saturday, 17 June riding on horseback. He is followed by his siblings: Princess Anne and Prince Edward, with his son Prince William in the centre. Queen Camilla and Katherine, Princess of Wales with her three children, are following them by carriage. This year King Charles marks his first Trooping of the Colour with three parades including the Major General’s Review, the Colonel’s Review on 17 June and The King's Birthday on Horse Guards Parade. Approximately 1 400 soldiers of the Household Division and The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, as well as 400 musicians, took part in the 2023 Trooping of the Colour parade. During the parade, the King’s Colour (Regimental flag) was ‘Trooped’ in front of the Colonel in Chief, The King, and all of the Royal Colonels.
