Eyewitness video shows a fire on Llanwonno mountain in the Rhondda Valley in South Wales on Monday evening (June 19), with flames and thick plumes of smoke seen rising high into the sky.

"The Emergency Fire Service says they are aware of the mountain fire and doing their best, but it is spreading further across the mountain and flames can be seen," Newsflare's filmer said earlier on Monday evening.

"Really maddening to see yet another mountain fire in RCT [Rhondda Cynon Taf], this time over the top of Llanwonno mountain, between Cynon Valley and Rhondda Fach," tweeted Cllr Andrew Morgan on Monday evening.
