Motorists miraculously escaped injuries as a lighter blast sent a car sunroof sky-high in northern China.

Dashcam video filmed in the city of Xi'an in Shaanxi Province on June 18 shows the sunroof of a car being suddenly blown into mid-air whilst in motion.

According to reports, the incident was caused by the explosion of a lighter inside the vehicle due to high temperatures. Further exacerbating the situation was the presence of combustible gases, such as perfume, leading to a larger impact.

Miraculously, two young men inside the vehicle emerged unscathed.
