STORYLINE:
According to the Spanish State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), this summer in Spain is expected to be one of the hottest in 30 years.
SOUNDBITE 1 (Spanish): RUBEN DEL CAMPO, AEMET spokesman
"We can say with some confidence that this summer will be among the 5th, 6th or 7th hottest in 30 years. Whatever the case, it will be very hot, although probably not hotter than last year which set a record that will be difficult to beat."
The AEMET added that the country will continue to be water-stressed as the current drought continues.
Spain saw the second-driest spring since records began in 1961.
SOUNDBITE 2 (Spanish): RUBEN DEL CAMPO, AEMET spokesman
"Water reserves in reservoirs will surely continue to drop because obviously there's much more demand for water in summer than in other seasons, and also summer rains are never capable of compensating for the greater output of water."
