Biblical scenes! Hikers cheer as clouds suddenly part when they reach top of mountain
This is the Biblical moment clouds suddenly parted to open a shining gateway to the heavens - sparking excited cheers from hikers who were taking pictures at the time.
The mountaineers were exhausted from the rain and their long trek but wanted to mark the moment they reached the Philippines' highest peak of Mount Apo, in Davao City on May 22.
It was cloudy, and the horizons appeared gloomy while they took selfies but within seconds, the sun's golden rays shone through in spectacular fashion - like an opening to the heavens above.
Footage shows the weather shifting while the tourists shout in joy. One of them said: ‘Hey, there's a clearing' before his friends jumped up and down exclaiming ‘Wow.'
One of the hikers Rodrigo Pangan said: ‘It was one of the greatest moments of my life. It was raining hard during our hike, so we didn't expect that we could bring home nice photos. Suddenly, the sky cleared out.'
The excited hikers continued to shout while rushing to take more photos as the sky was still clear.
Mount Apo is an active stratovolcano which is also the highest peak in the Philippines. Apo means ‘master' or ‘grandfather' that rises to the coastal city of Davao.
