A coyote cub finds an unusual source of nourishment as it feeds on milk from a goat at a wildlife park in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China.

Born in March this year, the adorable cub has been receiving special care from its dedicated breeder, Li Yuan. The heartwarming story unfolded after the cub's mother displayed erratic behaviour due to the absence of its father, leading her to reject the cub.

Meanwhile, a goat at the park experienced complications during childbirth, resulting in the unfortunate loss of its offspring. Seizing this serendipitous opportunity, the park's attentive staff introduced the lactating mother goat to the young coyote, allowing it to suckle on the goat's milk, which is known for its easy digestibility.

To everyone's delight, the cub has been thriving, exhibiting normal defecation and displaying excellent health indicators. Once the cub reaches an appropriate age, the park plans to reintegrate it into the coyote pack, ensuring its seamless transition into the wild.

It happened that a goat in our zoo encountered difficulty in giving birth, and after that the baby goat died. And the mother goat had milk, so we brought this mother goat to the coyote cub, and let it suckle at the goat's milk, which is easy to digest. The cub has normal defecation. All its health signs are quite good."



Staff members say they will let the coyote pup rejoin the pack when it is old enough to do so.
