A green snake was found coiled on top of a bucket inside a family's bathroom.

Footage shows the green snake trying to hide under a stainless steel bowl after it had been discovered by resident Supamai in Maha Sarakham, Thailand on June 1.

It slithered across the top of the water container and laid on the cover next to the shower head.

Supamai said she was shocked upon seeing the reptile as she sometimes used the toilet with the lights off.

She said: ‘I could have mistaken the snake for the shower head if I had not turned on the lights. I was so scared. My heard was racing.

The snake didn't move from its spot, appearing to think that the bowl was enough to cover its body.

Supamai added the snake was later removed from their home and released into the wild.

She said: ‘I think that snakes are very lucky but they really scare me. I could not use the toilet for a while after that.'

No one was hurt from the incident including the cheeky green snake that entered the home.
